The Israeli army has said it is shelling Syria and Lebanon after missiles were launched at Israel. “A launch was detected from Syrian territory…which was intercepted according to policy,” the army said on X, formerly Twitter, adding forces launched an artillery attack in response. Rocket launches from Syria are relatively rare but are more common in neighboring Lebanon.
