The Israeli military says it killed Mohammed Bassam Mohammed Mushtaha in northern Gaza on July 30, alleging he was a Hamas commander involved in holding several Israeli captives during the war. The killing occurred despite a so-called ceasefire being agreed in Gaza last year. Al Jazeera has not independently verified the Israeli military’s claims.
