Israeli forces detained a well-known Palestinian cafe owner and bookseller in Jerusalem’s Old City, witnesses told The National. In the latest incident in Israel’s crackdown on bookshops that sell works about Palestine, Anton Sabella was taken from The Gateway cafe to a police station near Jaffa Gate. Forces had rifled through his bookshelf, which includes works by many Jewish Israeli authors, the previous day.
