Israel is demanding the release of all 50 hostages held in Gaza, the Israeli public broadcaster Kan has quoted the Prime Minister’s office as saying, as Hamas has agreed to the latest proposal for a ceasefire submitted by mediators Egypt and Qatar. “Israel’s policy is consistent and has not changed. Israel demands the release of all 50 hostages in accordance with the principles set by the cabinet to end the war,” the office said, according to Kan. “We are at the final decisive stage of defeating Hamas and will not leave any hostage behind,” it added.
