Iran’s navy commander says the country’s defence industry has become a key pillar of national security after developing under years of sanctions and external pressure, Al Jazeera reported, citing Iran’s Mehr news agency. Marking National Defence Industry Day, he said Iran had chosen “the path of relying on domestic capabilities, internal knowledge and national will”, building a defence industry that had become “one of the main pillars” of the country’s security and strength.
