Iran’s latest 14-point proposal calls for issues between it and the US to be resolved within 30 days and aims to end the war rather than extend the ceasefire. The proposal, a rebuttal to the US nine-point plan, also calls for the US to lift sanctions on Iran, end its naval blockade, withdraw its forces from the region and cease all hostilities, including Israel’s war in Lebanon, according to the semiofficial Nour News agency, which has close ties to Iran’s security organisations. Trump rejected an Iranian proposal last week; however, conversations have continued, and the fragile three-week ceasefire appears to be holding.
