On Thursday, India launched an investigation into the death of 18 children in Uzbekistan after they consumed an Indian-manufactured cough syrup. In a statement, India’s health ministry said that the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) was communicating with its counterpart in Uzbekistan over the incident. “Immediately on receipt of the information, joint inspection of the Noida facility ….. initiated based on the inspection report,” the Indian govt said in its statement.
