The Indian Navy responded to a drone attack on Marshall Islands-flagged vessel in the Gulf of Aden, news agency ANI reported on Thursday. The distress call from the Genco Picardy was issued late on Wednesday, the report said. Indian media reports said that the vessel, which has a crew of 22 – including nine Indians – was struck by a drone at about 11pm while 95km south of the Port of Aden. According to reports, the guided missile destroyer INS Visakhapatnam responded to the distress call.
