India would surpass China to become the world’s most populous country by the middle of this year, according to a UN report. The UN Population Fund’s (UNFPA) latest report, titled State of World Population Report 2023, estimated that India’s population would hit 1.4286 billion this year, exceeding China’s by more than 2.9 million.
