The war crimes prosecutor seeking arrest warrants for Israeli and Hamas leaders says he resisted heavy pressure to delay his investigation to show that “the law is not an afterthought”. Karim Khan, the British chief prosecutor at the International Criminal Court, said he was warned by “many states and authorities” that initiating war crimes proceedings “would be a nuclear bomb”. Mr Khan said his case was about the “equal application of the law”.
