Hamas releases video of frail Israeli hostage

Hamas’s armed wing released video of an Israeli hostage looking weak and malnourished, blaming his condition on Israel’s siege of the strip. “They eat what we eat. It is the occupation government that has decided to starve them,” the Ezzedine Al Qassam Brigades said in the caption of the video. The subject was identified in Israeli media as Evyatar David. Israeli media quoted his sister Ye’ela David as asking for the video not to be circulated on social media. Mr David was captured by Hamas during its October 7 attack on Israel in 2023.
