The six-nation Gulf Co-operation Council has condemned Israel’s attacks on Iran and called for an immediate ceasefire in order to prevent a regional fall-out of the conflict. In an emergency meeting held online, foreign ministers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain convened to discuss the attacks between Iran and Israel that have now entered their fifth day. The ministerial council “strongly condemned the Israeli attacks on Iran” and labelled them a “flagrant violation” of the country’s sovereignty. It also called for “the return to the diplomatic track.”
