Secretary General of the Gulf Co-operation Council Jasem Albudaiwi has welcomed the official recognition of a Palestinian state by Spain, Ireland and Norway. “The Secretary General indicated that this recognition is a pivotal and strategic step towards achieving the two-state solution, and a strong motivation for all countries to take similar steps to recognise the State of Palestine,” the GCC said.
