Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, the secretary-general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has expressed his “strongest condemnation” of Iran for its attack on Kuwait, calling it a “dangerous and irresponsible escalation”. AlBudaiwi said in a statement that the attacks undermined efforts to preserve security and stability and called on the international community along with the UN Security Council to take a “firm and deterrent stance towards these serious violations that threaten regional and international peace and security”.
