UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres demanded a humanitarian ceasefire warning that the besieged Gaza Strip was becoming a “graveyard for children”. “The unfolding catastrophe makes the need for a humanitarian ceasefire more urgent with every passing hour,” he told reporters at UN headquarters. Palestinian health authorities in the enclave said the death toll from Israeli strikes has now exceeded 10,000.
