The Gamma variant first detected in Brazil is now killing people in Russia. Due to the Delta variant and slow vaccination process, Russia is facing a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases. In the last 24 hours, 24,471 positive cases were reported whereas 796 deaths occurred in Russia. Institute in Russia reported that the Gamma variant is spreading rapidly and it makes antibodies less effective.
