The Group of Seven (G7) countries’ foreign ministers have renewed their call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and pressed Israel to allow a surge of humanitarian assistance into the besieged territory, Al Jazeera reported. In a joint statement released after their talks, the ministers stressed the urgency of addressing the plight of civilians: “We stressed the urgency of alleviating the immense suffering of civilians in Gaza through a flood of humanitarian aid and securing the release of all hostages, and we reiterated our call for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.”
