The G20 leaders called for “comprehensive ceasefire” in both Gaza and Lebanon during a summit in Brazil. They expressed deep concern about the “catastrophic humanitarian situation” in the Gaza as well as the escalation in Lebanon, and stressed on the urgent need to expand aid into the Palestinian enclave. The leaders called for a US-proposed permanent ceasefire in Gaza in return for the release of all hostages, as well as a Lebanon ceasefire that enables citizens to return home safely on both sides of the Blue Line.
