The EU’s foreign affairs chief has said there is a “full-blown” famine in northern Gaza that is approaching the south, where more than a million people have fled amid Israeli attacks. “The much-feared scenario has come true: According to WFP Chief Cindy McCain, there’s full-blown famine in the north of Gaza, moving to the south,” Josep Borrell wrote on X, saying a UN resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza must be “implemented fully and immediately”.
