Israeli forces killed a former Palestinian national basketball player in Khan Younis. Mohammed Shaalan was struck while trying to obtain food aid to feed his children, Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. He had also been seeking medicine for his daughter, Mariam, who suffers from kidney failure.
