Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin instructed unlisted potential taxpayers in the country to start paying taxes before “we reach you” with details of their assets. Addressing the launching ceremony of the National Sales Tax Directory by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), he disclosed that out of 220m population, just around three million tax returns were filed. “We will go to them [unregistered taxpayers] with data and provide them with [the details of] their tax returns,” the minister warned.
