Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described Gaza as the world’s largest cemetery for women and children and accused the UN of failing to do its job. “Leaked images from Israel’s prisons, which it has turned into concentration camps, clearly show what kind of barbarian, barbarianism we are facing as a result of Israeli attacks,” he told the UN General Assembly. Mr Erdogan declared that his nation is at the centre of the region’s crisis and conflict, criticising the UN for failing to uphold its founding mission and labelling its structure as dysfunctional.
