Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that his government is in touch with Hamas, sharing its views on what it thought the best way forward was for reaching a ceasefire deal in Gaza, following a request by US President Donald Trump for support in the talks. Erdogan also said that Gaza must be governed by Palestinians. “We are articulating what the most reasonable course of action is, and what must be undertaken to enable Palestine to progress toward the future with assured and steady steps,” he was quoted as saying by Turkish broadcaster TRT.
