Lebanese President Joseph Aoun says the government will continue working to rebuild the state while seeking to “end the current situation” in southern Lebanon. Aoun added: “The biggest challenge is reconstruction after Israel withdraws from the occupied towns and villages and the Lebanese army deploys up to the border.” Israel continues to carry out intermittent attacks in southern Lebanon, and frequently carries out large-scale demolitions of homes and infrastructure in southern towns and villages.
