Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and CIA chief William Burns reviewed efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon in a meeting in Cairo on Thursday, Mr El Sisi’s office said. It said the pair discussed ways to push forward the efforts to reach a Gaza ceasefire and a hostages-for-prisoners swap between Israel and Hamas. They also discussed the flow of relief aid to Gaza as “Egypt’s top priority in view of the deterioration of humanitarian conditions in the sector,” it added.
