The Netherlands’ House of Representatives has backed a government measure to ban the import and sale of products from illegal Israeli settlements, Dutch Foreign Trade Minister Sjoerd Sjoerdsma said. “The cabinet is thereby sending a strong signal to Israel. The Netherlands does not want to contribute to maintaining” the illegal settlements, Sjoerdsma wrote on X. He said the move follows the International Court of Justice’s 2024 ruling on Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory.
