The Palestine Red Crescent Society has helped evacuate 40 patients and 62 companions for medical treatment outside the war-ravaged Gaza Strip. “The patients and their companions were prepared inside the al-Mawasi field hospital belonging to the association before being transferred by ambulance crews to the Rafah land crossing, in coordination with the World Health Organization and the competent authorities,” it said. “Great challenges” continue to plague the besieged territory’s healthcare system as hospitals face continuous pressure and difficult conditions because of Israeli military attacks and the devastating blockade, it said.
