Dozens of sick and wounded Palestinians were evacuated from Gaza to Egypt through the Rafah border crossing, for the first time since its closure in May 2024. Buses arranged in cooperation with the World Health Organisation were transporting them out of Gaza on Saturday morning. Under the terms of the continuing ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, 50 wounded and ill Palestinians, along with their companions, will be permitted to travel every day through Rafah.
