Infectious and skin diseases are running rampant in Gaza, the enclave’s Health Ministry has warned, as conditions continue to deteriorate. More than 700,000 cases of infectious disease, skin conditions, flu, hepatitis and diarrhoea have been recorded among displaced people, ministry spokesman Dr Mehdat Abbas said on Tuesday. “Overcrowding, lack of appropriate shelter, lack of sufficient and appropriate food and water, and required medical care increase the health and humanitarian catastrophe for the displaced,” he added.
