Twelve people were killed and more were feared dead in strikes on eastern Khan Younis on Monday, as civilians tried to flee the area following an Israeli evacuation order. “Intensive strikes” hit the area immediately after the army’s announcement, the official Wafa news agency reported, leaving civilians no time to evacuate. It described the area as almost completely destroyed by previous Israeli bombardment, and said people in the area had only returned in the absence of any alternatives.
