The White House addressed reports of the death of Adnan Al Bursh, a senior Palestinian doctor from Gaza, after more than four months in Israeli detention. “It’s devastating news and devastating to hear,” the White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told a news briefing. “Our hearts go out to friends and families, extended families – that is certainly one of the hardest news a family member could hear, especially as someone is providing care in this situation in Gaza where we know humanitarian aid is dire,” Ms Jean-Pierre said.
