Components used in thousands of pagers that detonated in Lebanon were not made in Taiwan, an official said on Friday. Taiwan-based Gold Apollo said it did not manufacture the devices used in the deadly attack on Tuesday. The pagers were traced to Budapest-based BAC Consulting, which has a licence to use Gold Apollo’s brand, the company said. “The components are [mainly] low-end IC [integrated circuits] and batteries,” Taiwan’s Economy Minister Kuo Jyh-huei said.
