Commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains heavily suppressed, with daily transits hovering in single digits due to ongoing Iranian military activity and maritime security risks, according to research from the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO). Despite persistent IRGC harassment, including UAV overflights, VHF hailing and active mine danger areas, UKMTO said that 103 ships entered the strategic waterway and 89 departed over the past week.
