Sarah Jama, an elected member of the Ontario provincial legislature, was asked to leave the chamber because she was wearing a keffiyeh. The Speaker of the Ontario legislature had recently introduced a rule that banned wearing the traditional Palestinian scarf. There have been moves to overturn the ban. According to CTV News, Ms Jama refused to leave the chamber.
