Britain’s Defence Secretary Grant Shapps would visit Saudi Arabia and the UAE on a Middle East trip starting on Tuesday. The UK government said that Shapps would discuss the situation in Gaza and Israel with regional leaders. Speaking separately in the House of Commons, Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said there was a “renewed desire to have a meaningful resolution” to conflict in the region.
