A 10-month-old baby in Gaza is paralysed after contracting polio, the UN said. The child was the first to contract polio in occupied Palestine for 25 years. Sewage samples containing poliovirus were detected in the enclave last month. There are two other suspected cases. Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, warned of the spread of the polio, which can cause life-long health problems.
