Apple Updates Lake Name on Maps for US Users

Apple has updated the name of Lake Ontario on the web version of Apple Maps for US users, following a US executive order. The lake now appears as “Lake America” in the United States, while Canadian users will continue to see Lake Ontario. Users elsewhere will see both names. The change follows a similar update by Google Maps and mirrors Apple’s approach to the Gulf of Mexico renaming, reflecting differences based on users’ locations.
