It was announced on Thursday that the Nobel Peace Prize for Literature was awarded to Abdulrazak Gurnah, a renowned novelist. The award was given due to his “uncompromising and humane penetration of the effects of colonialism and the fate of refugees in the gulf between cultures and continents”.
