Kyiv: On July 25,it emerged that Russia’s Gazprom was set to cut supplies further through its single biggest gas link to Germany. The announcement minced hopes of a deal over grain supplies that was to lessen the economic impact of the Ukraine war. The European Union has accused Russia of resorting to energy blackmail, while the Kremlin says the gas disruption was the result of maintenance issues and Western sanctions.
