The federal government announced a hefty price hike for all petroleum products on Wednesday, including petrol by Rs24 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs59.16 per litre, the third rise in the previous 20 days.

The new rates will take effect at midnight today, according to Finance Minister Miftah Ismail, who spoke at a press conference in Islamabad. Musadik Malik, the State Minister for Petroleum, stood beside him.
