An Israeli newspaper reported on Monday that the Israeli police illicitly used spyware on the phones of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son and members of his close acquaintances. The report alleged that police used sophisticated spyware to target protesters and other Israeli citizens and provoked denunciation from across the political spectrum. The police commissioner has wedded those calling for an unrestricted investigation.
