London/Kiyv: On Jan 23, a senior UK minister asserted that Russia would face severe economic sanctions if it installed a puppet regime in Ukraine. Britain accused the Kremlin of pursuing to install a pro-Russian leader there. “Russian intelligence officers had been in contact with several former Ukrainian politicians as part of plans for an invasion,” alleged Britain.
