The Washington Post reports that US troops have been found to be involved in extremist activities. He backed the US Alliance for Democracy, but added that keeping some independence was not the solution.
The rules were enacted when it was revealed that military people and former service members were among those who attacked the US State capital on January 6. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated when he got into office this year that he would investigate the extent to which the problem could spread and take steps to eradicate it.
