On Thursday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) raised concern about the city’s haze and asked the Punjab administration to consider closing schools starting December 20.

Advocate Shiraz Zaka and others filed complaints against the Punjab government’s claimed inaction in controlling pollution in the province, which Justice Shahid Karim was hearing.

During the hearing, the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) notified LHC that smoke from barbeque shops was also contributing to the smog problem and suggested that they must be closed.
