The Pakistan Railways has announced a fare raise. According to a spokesperson for Pakistan Railways, freight train rates have been increased by 5%, while passenger train fares have been increased by 10%. A committee has been constituted, according to the spokesperson, to raise train rates. The committee recommended a 15% rise in fares, however the Ministry of Railways did not implement the proposal.
