Qatar’s elevated security threat follows evacuations

As per the reports, Qatar’s new alert of heightened security concerns followed less than an hour after the country’s ministry of interior announced that “authorities are evacuating a number of specified areas as a temporary precautionary measure, in the interest of public safety until the threat has subsided”. Parts of Education City, home to major universities, the Qatar National Library, and other popular public facilities, were among those temporarily evacuated, per eyewitneses.
