Foad Izadi, a professor at the University of Tehran, says demonstrations in Iran appear to be under control with no major unrest in recent days. “I haven’t seen any protest in the last 48 to 72 hours,” Izadi told Al Jazeera when asked about the situation on the ground. “We haven’t seen any more riots.” Addressing ongoing internet restrictions, Izadi linked the measures to security concerns and referred to the June 2025 war with Israel. “Israeli Mossad agents used Iran’s infrastructure to communicate,” and operated a command-and-control centre that was later discovered during the attack, he noted.
