Israeli hostage body identified as Eliyahyu Margalit

An Israeli group campaigning for the return of all hostages said the body handed over by Hamas on Friday night has been identified as Eliyahu ‘Churchill’ Margalit, 75. The hostage family forum said he was killed on October 7, 2023. The announcement was “based on findings that were collected, and intelligence,” said the Israeli military. His daughter, Nili Margalit, 40, was also kidnapped on October 7, and was released by Hamas on November 30.
