The Israeli army is “forcibly displacing residents in Gaza under air strikes and pushing them towards overcrowded concentration camps in Al Mawasi area” of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, the enclave’s Health Ministry has said. The ministry stated in a press release that the camps lack the essentials of life, including water, food, and health services, which can lead to the spread of illnesses in a dangerous manner. “The displaced people are subjected to direct targeting and killing both inside the camps and when attempting to leave them,” it added.
