Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said leaders who are critical of his country are on the “wrong side of humanity”, in a statement on the killing of Israeli embassy staff in Washington. Netanyahu condemned the shooter in Washington as a “brutal terrorist” who cut short the victims’ “new and happy life”. Taking aim at leaders who have gone public with criticism of Israel this week, Netanyahu said the shooter’s cry of “free Palestine” was “the same chant we heard” when Hamas staged its October 7 attack on Israel.
